Practice self care

One of the first things that you could try would be a little bit of self care. As a mum, I understand that you might not always feel like you get the opportunity to do this, but there are ways you can implement a little time for yourself. A hot bath or long shower, a face mask or a chance to paint your nails. Reading a book or indulging in a little sunbathing in the Garden. These are all things that could help to improve your mental wellbeing through a difficult time.

Get out for your daily exercise

At the moment, we are able to leave our house for a few reasons including essential shopping. But we also ahve the opportunity to head out for daily exercise. While you may want to use this time to go for a run, you could also just indulge a walk with the fmaily. As long as social distancing is being adhered to by others, heading to country hotspots and parks can be a great way to lift your spirits, get fresh air and keep active during this difficult time.

Take care of your diet

It might be so tempting to indulge in all of the comfort food right now, but this could cause more long term harm than good. Sure, have a treat, but also make sure that you ahve a healthy balanced diet. Increase things like your water intake and try and avoid the temptation of drinking alcohol each day. Yes everyday will feel the same, but this could lead on to unhealthy habits in the future.

Let’s hope these tips help you to stay sane during lockdown.
